E-Bay find

Offline
Thought I would share my most recent E-Bay find with you...a Golden Jubilee Anniversary desk lamp/wall sconce that was presented to MG Dealers in 1975 in celebration of 50 years of the marque.

I first saw a lamp like this at MG96 in Indianapolis when I presented one to John Watson, the MGB Registrar of the MGCC-UK, on the behalf of the North American MGB Register. To my knowledge, that lamp is now on display at Kimber House.

I lost an auction for one of these lamps about a year ago. I was surprised and pleased that I was the only bidder on this particular lamp. The original owner was an MG Dealer in Florida, now retired.

The lamp is about 15" tall; the shade is plastic, NOT stained glass. It has six panels; three being MG octagons, the other three: Old Number One (pictured here), a 1946 MGTC, and a 1975 MGB - spaced between the MG octagon panels.
