I'm about to make an appointment to get the TR8 dynamometer tested - am both excited and scared about what I'll find.

Anyone with experience having this done? Any tips or do and don't before showing up?

I haven't dyno'd my Tr6 yet, but I did have a supercharged Mustang GT on the dyno for nearly an entire day trying to get the most optimal tune. 394rwhp. Not bad for a 280ci engine!!

Once I get through with my latest Tr6 project, on the dyno she goes!

No special instructions needed, but I would take a video camera if you have one.. it's really pretty neat to watch!

If your ears are sensitive, bring plugs. To me there is no finer sound than a TR6 revving up to red line. After spending most of my life listening to engines being run to high rpms, it would be almost sacrilegious to block any of that sweet music.

Besides, I've been trained to listen for that detonation sound, tappet noise or rod knock that can spell an early death for an engine. I want to hear mine go all the way up and down.

Now with all that being said, I will back down a bit and admit that a TR8 is one wicked engine to listen to when revving up as well.

Just be ready to enjoy. take an assistant that is good with the camera, as you will probably be running your car on the dyno.

Right you are about there being less HP than you think. I did a lot of work and I am at 118 HP at the rear wheels. I was looking for about 130 HP. I know there is more but it won't be much more. The motor runs wonderfully on the three carbs. And it is fast. But I am an old drag racer so I am accustom to high revs and lots of smoke. My buddy gets 190 HP out of his supercharged and fuel injected. Check this link out if you want to see a TR6 on the dyno.

If you check on my link below you will see my component list. I am familiar with yours, because of the tri power.
