Dynaplastics Hardtop Value [BJ7/BJ8] w/Pictures

I have a Dynaplastics hardtop in good (B+) overall condition. The bottom seal probably needs to be replaced, but is very useable. Rear window is in excellent shape and is tinted.

Vinyl covering and interior plastic headliner are in excellent shape. Aluminum trim on outside is also in excellent shape.

Ideas on how much I should advertise this for? Pictures tonight or tomorrow for those who are interested.

I know its ugly, but are the lack of opinion suggesting its worthless? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Re: Dynaplastics Hardtop Value [BJ7/BJ8]

hi Dave, did you post a picture? I don't see it. My computer is still acting up so maybe that is it.

Re: Dynaplastics Hardtop Value [BJ7/BJ8]

Not having seen a photo I don't know about its being ugly, though most aftermarket tops just don't seem to look right. You can buy factory shells for BT6-7's for $500 and up--nicely restored factory tops for $2K and more.

Re: Dynaplastics Hardtop Value [BJ7/BJ8]

David K., I would like to see a picture of the hardtop you are talking about. I am in the market for one for a BJ7.

Michael,
I was on Cape International's web page looking for a hardtop for my BJ7, they don't seem to have one for the convertibles. Do you know of other suppliers?

Dave

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif OH My Gosh David!!, They tried to make a hard top that looked like a soft top and just plain got it ugly as sin. Maybe a set of ford Thunder bird portholes on the side might help a bit, /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nonod.gif, I doubt it. Not a bad idea though.---Keoke- /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Dave--

The two UK suppliers that I know of are David Ward and NICAL engineering. I believe that Wards' top is designed so that removal from the car of the folding mechanism and cloth top is not necessary whereas NICAL's requires removal of this gear.

If you are interested in buying one of the NICAL tops I know of one for sale here in the US--contact Marion Brantley at: MBran89793@aol.com.
