dual springs for 1500 engine rocker arm upgrade?

Street car? Not really.

For racing or heavy auto-cross use (with much rpm over 6500) it might help. If you're planning on that type of rpm, you'll need a fully balanced engine (and new rod bearings every 50 hours or so).

My amatuer 1500 club racer / vintage racer always just used stock springs, which worked fine under 6000 rpm. In stock form, these engines are better at producing low-rpm torque and are really happier under 5500 rpm. Keep th revs down and you'll be fine as-is.

my car is just a street car, so I probably wouldn't go for the dual springs unless someone else has any other thoughts?

You're best to stick with stock-ish set up on the Triumph heads, the way the valve spring sit there all proud on a boss, it was a terrible design idea, I built several trick 1500 race heads and used different double springs set ups, and had to make mods to make it all work, without the use of lathe and mill, I'd never got it done, heck shimming a valve spring on this engine is a major work of art, I had to make special piece to just be able to use shims. This part of the 1500 engine is true PITA.
