TR4/4A Dual Colour 4A Tail Lens

I think the Non-North American TR4s got these lights as most other countries require an amber turn signal.

I have a set I am planning on putting on my TR4 ... I like the way they look.

TRF actually sells reproductions but I would recommend getting originals as the repros (at least the one I have)aren't all that great.

I think I may have just found them on page 136 of the TRF "250 and 6" in line catalogue Part # LU54578033 about $20 each

Got them from Fred McEachern at British Auto Sport, 1-888-485-2277, he has moved but I think that number is still active (it's off an old card.)

I too would like to have these on My TR4A for 2 reasons;

(1) I like the way they look:

I was bidding on "ONE" lens on ebay & won it for $6.50 + shipping $4.00: Not Bad, I think? But, I only have "One" Used One now:

Where can I get another one? Preferably used so It adds that "Patina" look:

I just ord the "Red/Amber" Lens from TRF: Your correct with the P/N:

They really don`t show a Good Pic:

Now I have "One Used One" & "One new One"!

I would guess It`ll be easier to make the New One look older buy dumping some dirt inside and outside; Ruffing up the whole thing or Maybe, I`ll just lucky and the Old One will clean up with some detergent and Windex?

Well; We shall see soon enough as both should arrive approx. the same time!

I`ll let you folks know what My opinion of the TRF part is like:

I ordered (currently on back order) a pair from TRF Late last week. Will keep you posted as to their actual arrival date and appearance.

I've cleaned up many a plastic lens to near-new condition with little more than a thorough scrubbing of the inside with a good soap and an old toothbrush, followed by (as needed) a bit of polishing action on the outside with the same kinds of products I'd use on the paint of the car. So long as there are no deep scratches, any good polishing compound and subsequent waxing should make the lens look great...unless there's fading or other UV-related damage/crazing of the plastic.
 
Sorry, Russ, I wasn't watching for a few days.
I spoke to Fred who told me this item is made in the U.K. so not covered by the Free Trade Agreement so not worth shipping from Canada.
He suggests you order from Moss, part number 560-295.
He has no website, but the 800 number worked for me!

(Andy is quite right about cleaning up old ones, you can use toothpaste or fine rubbing compound.)

You know folks with all the "Stuff" I`ve bought and still buying from Moss; I keep missing one thing or another!

[censored] Simon; If I only knew (Looked closer in their catalog); I could have gone to Dover, NJ and Picked up a Pair: "Too Late"!

Today I rec`d the "Used Amber Tailight Lens": The Seller thru in a Red on Red one cause I guess he had no need for It:

Looks really good & practical compared to the Red on Red: Nostalgic Looking to say the least:

Tomorrow will constitute a Toothbrush and some Toothpaste (Any Recommendations here)? Do some Polishing while the TR is in the shop for a Face Lift:

Waiting for the New one from (Where the Heck did I buy It)? Oh Yeah; After I looked up above - "TRF": I wonder if they had it in Stock? I did`nt check! OOPS!

Will keep You folks posted relative to the Quality Issue from TRF; When I get It??

We are on our way as of Sat. morning, to the BC coast
(without TR Boo HOO!) for two weeks so that of course means that the lens' will show up this coming Monday....

Today I rec`d my "Amber/Red" Tailight lens: Its actually pretty darn nice!

The Orig I have has a "Vertical Grid Pattern" vs. TRF`s "Circular Grid Pattern"? The TRF lense has "No Markings" on it as to where it was mfg etc:

Today; I called TRF and Ordered another one! They tell me thier mfg in England but???

I`m holding on to the one I bought on ebay cause it is an Orig with All the Markings (L 799 England) & If I get Lucky may just find another one! This is getting expensive!
