Dry oil filter

The Bosch 3402 is a generic oil filter. It's got a drain back check valve. A vastly overrated item. You've also got the 3/4" adapter in your engine in order to fit this filter.

You're going to drain any oil filter through the crankshaft and rod bearings. This will continue to the very bottom of the spigot going into the engine block. This happens regardless of drain-back valves, as the action is forward, not backwards.

Many with an drain-back valve will leak through the valve, and leak through the oil pump, draining into the sump until the inlet port in the block is empty. This port is frequently at the bottom of the filter. This process generally takes a few days to happen.

If you change with the oil hot, you'll find the filter to be full of oil. If you find the filter to be truly void of all oil under those conditions, you've got an interesting internal failure in the oil passages, bypassing the filter.
