There is a 60 or 80 Z that has been sitting by the side of the road next to a farmer's field with no houses close. The car has no wheels and looks like it was stolen and then abandoned. It has been there a LONG time. I noticed today as I went that direction that the drums are the Alfin version. Didn't I read and hear they can be fit to the 6?

Wheel bolt pattern is the same, so why not? Are they the same width? I'd bring a few home to try them.

Don, I love my new Alfins. A little aluminum cleaner and a quick trip over the lathe on the inside and those drums will be standing tall!

Need to get a hold of the Sheriff department to find out the situation on the car.

hey guys, the drums sold by the roadster factory are z drums. paul those that you have are the z car drums, they just take them and enlarge the center.

There ya go, Don!

Sounds to me like you need a jack, not a sheriff!!

the edge where the backing plate runs should be undercut as well. Some will rub when cornering.I think i took out about 40 thou or so.Just put on a new set from trf this winter which I picked up in Laughlin Triumphest. My first set were off of '76 Z

Don
9 inch on a tr6,but i'm sure TRF has 10" they are made by Brembo in Italy. Iirc Charles brings them as blanks and drill's the holes as required.I think he mentioned that at TR Fest.

Casey,

That would be correct. My boxes had the Brembo name right on them and they are machined in the states.

I waited until he was having a sale and bought mine.

That's why I bought them at Triumpest.Charlie had them on special show price 100.00 each, fiqured that wasn't bad. Gave my Z drums to a fellow club member.

Had some trouble to install them as i went with larger Morgan wheel cyl. as well and because there is small difference's in wheel cyl overall length, new drums would'nt fit over new shoe's.Had to arc shoes down some to fit. Also had to refab E brake arms were they fit in whl cyl slot. Morgan uses different pin size. Not a direct bolt on item.

Also put EBC Green Stuff pads up front.Should stop on a dime and get some change back.

I had always heard the Morgan cyl. were a bolt on.

Don
That's what I had always heard.Ya never know until you try it.Could be there is a difference in whl.cyl. depending on supplier? I don't know, but I know what I had to do as I just put them on a month or so ago.

I went with the stock wheel cylinder, so I can't help on that one.

They do, and you will. But use that spare change you get back to buy some wheel cleaner. Those Kevlar brake pads make a terrible mess on the front wheels in the form of brake dust. Very disappointing.

Oh, and I used brake paint, thinned it with the appropriate thinner and sprayed my Alfin-style drums "Screaming Yellow."

No, it doesn't interfere with heat dissipation and yes it is Super Bling.

Doc,

Which ever one starts hanging out with a gold chain around their neck with a diamond studded big "T" on it.

It could be "T" for Triumph

Or "T" for Todd.

Or "T" for Teeth.

Or "T" in honor of the original bling-master, Mr. T.

Didn't really want to hear about the dust part Bill.May have to retrain better half as she likes to polish and dust etc. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/jester.gif

I also painted the drums,I used a metallic silver caliper paint
