Dropping the price on my 3...

It would seem that I was truely dreaming when I was looking for $18K on my '59 TR3. Not had even a nibble from local or province wide ads (as in no one has come to see the car).

So, despite having almost $20K in the car - I'm reducing the asking price to $13900 o.b.o. and will for US buyers include the customs/duty fee...Posted here in classified section.

There, now lets see if I can sell it before my wife comes back on the 22nd,

Cheers,
Kerry

Hi Kerry;

I notice that you took the Engine Bay Pic out: What did you do to the Engine Bay? You know people are going to ask you for pics of that!

Your getting there relative to cost: Aug. 22nd is the Deadline or Your Dead; Is that what you meant to say?

Best Wishes in Your Sale:

Why not ebay it for a wk or so & see what happens? Offering the Frieght to the US is a "Big Plus Selling Feature" in my opinion:

The selling price includes freight to the US? That could get *real* expensive ....

Tom

Didn't mean to imply I would cover freight...only customs. Thus, the car would cost about what one from upstate NY would to deliver. Was worried the US market would shy from a car registered in Canada.

I pulled the engine pict just because the bay wasn't detailed.

There is a big boot and bonnet show near here in a couple of weeks - if I can't sell direct, I should be able to pick up interest there.

Cheers,
Kerry

Kerry,
Sadly it is rare to recover the costs of rebuilding a car. A few years ago I rebuilt a TR3A to close to as new condition. Everything was renewed, or rebuilt. I spent over 20,000 pounds and much of the work I did myself. I ended up selling it for 11,000 pounds. But, then I keep telling myself that I owned it for nine years and I enjoyed rebuilding it so my hobby only cost me £1,000 a year!
Nice looking car. With the current exchange rate I guess you would get quite a bit of interest from the UK and Europe. Maybe you should advertise it a bit more widely.
Nick

Kerry, If you have not done so already, you should also post this in the Classified Forum, then put a link there to your ad in the actual classified section.

Yes, I have to send a note in to Basil - the new asking price is indeed $13900,
thx,
Kerry

Already fixed it for you /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

Kerry - Take up on Nick's suggestion. Ship it to Europe. Drive it around for a month and then sell it for $25000. It'll pay for all your vacation expenses and your wife will love you for it all. You'll still have lots when you get back home.

And if you still can't unload it after you spend another 10 Grand on all that, the wife will for sure kill you.

Well, in that case I will look after it until you next visit then! You could have a little business renting it out to British Car Forum members when they come over on holiday!

Ironically, the wife and kids are in London now - I should have had her sell it....'course she would have taken the first offer above 10 pounds...

Thanks,
Kerry
