T-Series Dropping the oil pan on my MGTD

While I'm waiting on my MG TD service manual... Any tips on dropping the oil pan while still in the car? I've removed the bolts from around the clutch housing and most of the oil pan bolts as well. What can I expect as the pan is pulled and is the sump connected to anything? Thanks.

Sid - At most you will have to put a knife edge on a putty knife to tap into the joint to break the gasket loose. Beyond that, it should drop right off. The oil line to the pickup is attached to the inside of the pan on the left side (you will see two bolts in the side of the pan, right under the oil pump). There is a passage drilled in the side of hte pan that mates with a drilling in the crankcase that goes up to the pump. I will send you an article on replacing the gaskets on the pan when replacing it (did you get the other stuff I sent to you?). The assembly and placement of the gaskets is very critical to minimize leakage from the rear main (note, I did not say eliminate the leak, just minimize it - long history here).
