I've been a happy Hagerty customer for years now (though no claims experience) and have been happy to work within their usage guidelines -- until now. I really just want to be able to drive to work most days in the summer. I'm busy enough on weekends that if I don't drive during the week, the car will just sit.

Besides, I did the math and my MGB is worth just a bit over half what my daily driver (Kia hatchback) is worth, so seems silly to let it sit.

Felt good to drive in to work this morning. Sure, I lose the nice "actual value" coverage and such, but in the end the car's not worth all that much and I did buy it to drive.

Much better.

Look for an "Agreed Upon Value" policy.

Very hard to find for a daily driver, Doc. I'm adequately covered for now, but I'm still trying to find something better.

Yeah, it great to drive them. I drove mine about 180 miles yesterday.

My policy allows 2000 miles per year and it would hard for me to actually get up to that point (only 3 miles to work and I don't teach in the summer anymore). So my current "historic" policy works fine. And here in NJ, there's lots of salt used in the Winter so the car doesn't go out then anyway.
That's when the Miata gets driven.

Maybe I should just find a policy with a simple mileage limit... being as my speedo/odo doesn't work then I never officially drive *any* miles. :jester:

My MGB is on a standard registration, so it gets a safety inspection every year (lights, brakes, etc). No ODO check. Good thing, as mine will probably not be working next year either.
