Drove the TR8 down to Nashville this morning. The mission was to install newly freshened-up SU's on a friend's TR3, pop new plugs, points, condenser and wires on it, and tweak it up a bit. Drained his old gas (lovely dark orange color), put four gallons of fresh gas in, and she fired up and settled into a nice idle. Balanced everything out, and it's in fine shape. Over to McCabe's Pub for a ham and swiss on rye, with an Abita Amber, then took the backroad back to Clarksville.

All in all, a great day! Red beans and rice tonight!

Now, what to do tomorrow...?

Tums and Rolaids?

I thought that was <span style="font-style: italic">"the last TRAIN to Clarksville"</span>

A nice drive, good food and help a friend, couldn't be much better, Mickey.
I went to a little tech session myself last weekend up in Huntsville.
Any thoughts about coming back down to the N.O. car show ?

Well Mickey, I have a 3A needing carb work in the Houston area, so come on down any time. Also needs suspension work, engine work, body work, and interior work but that could be another trip!

Envy meter went off the scale. My rear suspension is still in pieces and we still have that funny white stuff hanging around.

Just finished putting a Triumph Sports Owners Assoc badge on my car in anticipation of the club's first tech session tomorrow. Another club member is joining me with his 59 TR3A so we should be quite the sight motoring along I-85 here in Charlotte. His is red, mine black......both with hardtops and very spiffy!!Spring didn't come fast enough for any of us. Motor on Mickey!

...after you get done with TR4nut's, you can pop across town and catch my TR3 up to his. Today I took my dodge radiator on my TR6 trunk rack to be repaired, and then got it back in my truck. I love getting TRuck parts in my TR6, but hate working on my Truck. Working on the TR3 or TR6 is fun by itself -even if I do have to use the TRuck to get it's parts.

Only thoughts - too many other distractions this year. (Man, work sure gets in the way!) Maybe next year.

Randy & "Tex":

So many TR's; so little time... :jester:

I plan to get mine out Sunday for a nice cruise after golf. Then Monday to the body shop to have the deck lid installed and the matte black paint applied. Hopefully, the rack will be done at the platers Mon afternoon and that will go on later next week.

Seats should be done a week or two then the fun begins....

Mickey,

Why don't you drive out to Eureka,& help
me get some of my projects finished?

- Doug

Like I said, Doug: So many TR's, so little time!

If I could, I would, though!

LBC driving and now golf!

Oh this is just too much - envy meter just exploded.

Played 18 and the cover is off. Finished some "honey do's" so we'll cruise tomorrow afternoon.

Have a regular Saturday morning get together with a bunch of sports car people (mostly British). This morning, since the weather has been extremely nice this past week, a bunch of us got together to have coffee then go for a drive. Some of the more exotic machinery came out of the woodwork for this one.

I thought my TR8 was low, but when compared to the Countach... and my TR8 is lower than stock.

Mickey,
Glad the weather cooperated. Was stationed at Campbell with 5th Gp for awhile, always enjoyed the back road driving to LBL etc.
I have to say this because it is an Arizona state law: I've driven all winter and haven't even put the windshield on, just the aeroscreens.

Yep - some nice roads there, and south to the Natchez Trace. Hwy. 79 is mostly four-lane now to Paris, but still lots of good side roads to play on.

79 4 lane now, it's been awhile as I left for Bragg in '96. We lived south of 79 out the back gate a ways.
Some nice hilly backroads.
Lots of friends still own property out by LBL Cadiz area that will retire shortly and are looking fwd to it.
Nice area.
