as part of my spring work on Nigel im looking @ new ujoints or having the driveshaft rebuilt/rebalanced im not getting a vibration just a clunk when i put the car in gear. anyone have a driveshaft rebuilt and if you did why?
 
There is a great video on youtube of John Twist replacing them. You should be able to do it yourself if you are handy enough.

I'd be leaving the link but I cannot access the site right now.
 
U-joints need replacing periodically...I dont even mess with them anymore, just take to machine shop!
 
I still do U-J's on my stuff. It's "therapy." :smirk:


Did the rear on Cowboy's Chevy pseudo-Suzuki "Tracker" thingie a week ago. Took about an hour. A "One CAB job." :wink:

Ya worked on someone's car for an hour and only charged them ONE can of beer?...man, you are good and cheap! :cheers:

If ya ever get the chance try the 95/96 Plantagenet (ozzie :smile: from Mt Barker near Margaret River (chardonnays),
in the $xxx/bottle range now tho :frown:
 
Pull the shaft, take it and the new u joints to your friendly machine shop. About $30, saves a lot of frustration.

The only prob with THAT folks, is if you do NOT SHOW & EXPLAIN the "indented locations" even a shop will do a prop shaft WRONG!! :thumbsup:
