Driver Door Just Won't Shut Tightly

Gentlemen:

I need some advice regarding the driver's side (LHD) door on my 1960 BE. It closes, but not snuggly to the car (like it does on the passenger side), and when I drive you can hear the door rattle in place. I have the same weatherstripping on both sides and I don't think there are any issues with the door hinges, alignment, etc. I think the issue is between the striker and the lock mechanism. I know there is a little room to maneuver the striker, so should that be adjusted? Do the strikers wear out? Or the lock mechanism?

Again, any help will be appreciated.

Check the striker point, they do wear out.
You may be able to adjust it by bending it slightly or making an extra shim out of a thin piece of metal.
My door was popping open when I hit a bump, the striker wore out. You can see the wear mark.

I took the door latches out yesterday for comparison and found the one striker fit loosely in both. I tried the un-scientific approach of putting some black tape around the striker and found I have a much more snug fit. I'll take it for a test run to see how it holds up, plus look into gtting a new striker.
