Drive your car

I took the MGB for a drive to pick up the monrning papers and an older gent saw me get out of the car. He came over and asked if I would like some spares for for the B for free. Of course I took the chance and followed him back to his place where he gave me an old bucket with 2 external 2 internal handles 2 window winders a fairly complete tool roll plus some odds and sods. Not a bad reward for taking the car for a drive.Bob

That was surely a nice thing for him to do. I supose he knew they would be well taken care of and put to their intended use.

You feel good getting them and he feels good finding them a home, a real win win.

Great story. My neighbor's father came over to check out my MGB last Fall. He told me all about his MG-TD he drove across country a couple of times....back in the day.

I've given him a bulletin of what our local club is doing in the next couple of months. Hopefully he come along and get a buzz out of it.

Springtime around here, I take a pick ax and secure a sample of roadway

I then test the fragment for salt & alkalinity using one of these...

Can't be too careful

I find it very amusing how many stories I hear when I take the B for a spin. My wife didn't even know that her cousin's husband had a TD. Him and I were always chatting at family gatherings but the MG's never came up. One day my wife and I decided to drive it to a family picnic (the sun was shining and the top was down) when we pulled up next to the TD. I bounced out of the B and was admiring it when Wally said, "I didnt know you had an interest in MG's" Now I see Wally more than ever as he is always borrowing tools! :hammer: Oh yes he likes to tinker as much as I do and my garage always has something to tink on!
