Thanks to all for the advice -- today I grabbed a piece of scrap hardwood and my best BFH and took on the one stuck brake drum. Boy did that take a lot of beating! I was able to get it to rock a bit by hitting it in 2 places, 180 degress apart. Still wouldn't come off, so I wound up needing to tap it from the back side until it was finally far enough off the hub to come off. I think the studs may be just slightly bent.

I was planing on new studs anyways, now it's or sure.

Go Drew! Sometimes going at something from a different angle and with a different hunk of wood always works.

I got one of those hammers too, although I call mine "the negotiator"... Very good for stress relief!
