Dreaming.....

Ahh, nope! I'm actually going to tire kick a couple of 3As tomorrow - and I've been told they are indeed rust free. We'll see!

Condition "like new" A bit of an overstatement.

Howdy Folks,

I asked the seller one question;

"I have to believe you simply forgot or ebay did`nt get the "After/Restored" pics posted on that add"; Correct?

His reply was;

"These are the "Like New" pics; Why do you ask?

"No further conversation with this "Wishful Dreamer"!

Russ

"LIKE NEW" really? I remember looking at these at the new car dealer and the boot lid and rt signal lamp were an available option, and you could upgrade to the grill with the smaller crank hole for an additional 175.00. It was also available with the boot lid, rubber seal un-painted and actually installed. This one appears to be worth about what it cost when it WAS new.

Just noticed the car was only twelve cars ahead of mine on the assembly line. If it were closer I'd wouldn't mind seeing it just to get some reference pics - but regardless of what the seller says I think it has a few miles on it - distributor is from a later TR for sure.

I think that the owner means that this is a like new "TRI_MPH."

If that is the case Tom, I need to dig that other one out of the weeds in my back yard :smile:

Cheers,
Tush

Wow, "like new"? Really?

With the underhood condition, I'd be more likely to believe the mileage is 130,000 too and not 30,000.

Really, the guy couldn't roll the car back 10 feet into the sunlight and take a picture with something better than a Fisher-Price camera? The underhood pic alone would scare me off....

At least mine came with the mouse nest!

"rust free"! (that means there's no extra charge for the rust)

I swear, it drives me nuts when I see a car like this for sale by someone who's owned it less than six months, especially when it's in this condition but described as "like new".

And for Pete's sake, couldn't he have at least focused the camera? (or maybe there's a reason for the fuzzy pictures ...)

I mean, the missing rear light, the loose boot seal, the pitiful engine bay, the missing "horn, and blinker switch for the steering wheel as well as air filters for the carburetors, a door panel, floor mats". Does he have the boot lid? soft top, hard top, sidescreens?

Call me naive, but if I wanted a minimum of $15k for the car, I'd have done some cleanup and repairs.

Tom

This appears to be the first item he has ever sold (make that 'offered for sale') on eBay (2 feedbacks are from purchases).

Could actually be a good car for the right price.
