On Sunday Tracy Drummond (bighealey) and I met up in Santa Cruz at Beach City Gas Station and toured up the coast to Dream Machines. Here are a few pics of the day:

Here is the caravan with "Big Bertha" a cool although non-Healey roadster and a blown Willies/Jeep truck.

Oh ya Brian. My OD blewup just outside of Santa Cruz. I'll be pulling the tranny again. Scared the bejesus outta me. At 55 I switched on the overdrive and clunk / chirp (momentary rear wheel lockup) ... no more overdrive. It drove fine without OD the rest of the way home which was just about right for me to calm down after the chirp. Now I need to get it rebuild before the 17 of may and the next run. eeeeek ! Does your friend still have a spare?

Is that a B-25 plane in the background? Who owns operates it?

Just curious, I'm a vintage plane lover!

Inline pics of Big Bertha, take two:

Brian,

drats! Whats the syntax for inline pics?

T.

BTW I pulled the tranny last night in about 3 hours by myself. I used a tranny jack and also a floor jack unter the sump with a flat board. The ribbed aluminium oilpan makes the bottom of the motor easy to jack up. Its not too bad of a task if you have as much practice a I have had recently.

Bighly, you mentioned May 17th as a target date. Do you mean May 16th at Dixon,CA (British car show and swap meet)? We are thinking of going. If anyone has attended this annual event, is it worth the drive?

The Dixon show should have at least 250 cars. Usually about 15-20 Healeys. The swap meet usually has 20-40 people selling parts. Not many of the for Big healeys. Some of the big vendors come to the swap also. This is a good event to see lots of British cars, not just healeys.
I am in charge of parking there, come introduce yourself. I think we met on the passes tour 2 years ago.

Where in Dixon is it? I've never stopped there. Just drove on by without thinking about the town. Will there be signs? What time does it start? How long does it last?

Urrg uaaahhh ya the 16th. As soon as I get my OD back from Bill Bolton I'll Bolt it back on and try not to break anything else important before then. hehehehehehe

Maybe we should do a caravan or find out from where everyone else is starting in the bay area.

I don't thing I can haul a tranny jack, floor jack, spare tranny etc etc.... I'll need to run it round a bit to get the warm fuzzy again.

See Austin Healey picture # 105 in Members rides. My car will be there. Come introduce yourself.

By the way, the car show is at the fairground in Dixon. There will be signs on the road off the freeway.

That is a great color!! Very well done. If all goes well I'll be there. I am just waiting for my OD to return from Bill Bolton in OR. I look forward to meeting you.
