It is interesting on Google Earth where it can be viewed in 3D 35°28'43.51"N 83°55'48.77"W Planned on driving it in July but life is happening and it is looking more difficult every day to get away.
My brother, an avid bike rider, makes a point of cruising the Dragons tail at least once a year just for the fun of it!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbsup.gif

I've driven the Dragon in the MGC several times over the past four years....always a great trip...this picture was taken during British V8 2003.....taken from behind the windscreen of the MGC...
I did the Dragon in April on the Evante - pretty much a dream come true for me. Went on a Monday or Tuesday - no groups, very little traffic, maybe 20 bikes there. I'll try to get some in car videos posted later.
Also did the Blueridge Parkway from Asheville to the top of Mt Mitchell on this trip and some other area drives. Here's a short clip on the parkway - Parkway Climb - I'm planning on going back again around the same time next year - if not before.
I take a road like that on my way to work at once or twice a week (and starting next year almost every day) a bit shorter but the very steep hills and multiple switchbacks more than make up for that. Almost makes up for the long drive to work.

Last year while attending MG2006 I had the chance to run the Tail. Great road and well worth the time, but try to go on a week day as on the weekends there is alot of traffic which cuts down on your fun.
There are photographers that stay on the corners of the Dragon and post their photos on websites that you can purchase. I found three shots of my 78 B taken in action and bought them online.
It's always looked like a fun road to me, but from all reports I've heard it is very busy. I think it would drive me crazy, no pun intended. I greatly prefer a deserted canyon road.
