Downton Abbey

jlaird said:
Downton Abbey series has been cleared and is in production for a third season. Have you read the book about the pile where it is filmed?

Yeah, Highclere Castle. Home of Lord Caernarvon. The chap who discovered King Tut's tomb and died shortly afterwards of septicemia from an infected mosquito bite, or was it a shaving nick. That gave rise to all those "Mummy's Curse" films. <span style="font-style: italic">IDK, maybe "Daddy's Curse"</span> - beat you to it, kelleysguy! :jester: The wife and I visited in 1996 to see the secret garden, where the movie of the same name was filmed. Some digs! We found out that the current Lord Caernarvon lived in a small house on the property because they could no longer afford to live in the large house. I believe it was deeded to the National Trust.
