Door Window Weather Strip

Hi All!

I noticed that the replacement weather strip from MOSS ends up leaving an open gap along the vent window chrome piece.

Is there supposed to be a gap in the rubber seal, or should this be sealed?

Thanks!
Bob

Bob,
I don't have a BJ8, but from looking at pictures it looks like the metal of the window should be flush to the metal on the door with no space for rubber. Not sure why your has space.

Hi Bob,
Sorry for my slow response as I had no luck in taking window-scrapper pictures to show how an original strip was installed. Since, for some reason, I could not get a sharp pic to transmit, I will just tell you that the window-scraper strip extends to the vertical support of the vent window and no further. When the window is lowered, the pressure applied to the window by the strip is released. The strip is allowed to withdraw toward the inside edge of the window channel in the vertical vent support.

Hope this helps. Without the pictures, the description becomes a little wordy.
All the best,
Ray (64BJ8P1)
