Door weather strip clips

The rubber weather stip that goes on top of the door on my BJ8 has 8 cut outs in the rubber where the clips are pushed on. Each cut out also has a small hole in the center. (Actually there are 9 holes, one where no cut out is)

What are those holes for? The black clips do not have a punched out in them at all, as maybe to line them up?

So, what's the holes for? What's up with that?

Seriously though...Why are there holes in the strip? Anyone? p.s. Thank you Keoke. I can always count on you for your wisdom and playfull banter. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gif

Well ASMHL Hows ziz ?: The rubber door waist seal material is not unique to the Healey cars.Earlier European cars that had roll up windows, wooden door frames and brush type waist seals upgraded to the rubber type using the litte holes and small screws to attach it to the wooden frame. However, as far as the usage on the Healey goes:" Whats up" Absolutely nothing.-Seriously--- :Keoke /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Always there with the correct answer are you Keoke. As would be said by Obi wan Kenobi. Makes sense that it was shared with other cars. Thanks for that insite. Curious: has anyone stumped you yet, with a Healey question? Most likely not yet. What's up with that? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/square.gif
