Door Trim

Hello

I am trying to fit the door trim to my BT7. There is a big board with a hole in it that fits on the inside of the door. On the ones that I got from ah spares there is a large piece of vinyl that comes off the inside of the hole. What I am I supposed to do with this? Does it stick to the inside or go under the panel on the outside?

Thanks for your help.

Myles

The door trim on the BJ7 comprises of a smaller vinyl covered aluminium panel through which the door opening handle protrudes and then over the top goes the larger bit of board with a large hole in the middle.

Is the sheet of vinyl to cover the inner aluminium panel?

Don't think so as it's only on the bottom, well away from the door handle...

Thanks

Myles,
I just did this a few months ago on my BT7, and the new panels for my doors did not have the flap of vinyl that yours have. In fact, I really can't remember any extra vinyl hanging off any of the panels. A picture might help with this mystery.

Hi Myles,
Mine definitely didn't have that flap, but if I had to guess I'd say it was meant to go inside the door to help line the pocket formed by the outer and inner door skins. In other words, it just drops down inside the door pocket. My panel set had another small panel that fit on the inside face of the door pocket just about where that flap would go. If you don't have that panel (which is kinda useless, in my opinion) this flap would serve the same purpose.

Sorry I can't be of more help. Hopefully, someone else in this forum will have seen a door panel like this.
