There seems to be a need for a gasket between the defrost box and the tubes that have a 90 degree angle in them. Is this true or do I just put the tubes in with blue gunk?
That's where I use a *bit* of RTV, just to seal the plastic tubes in the diverter ("flapper valve"). They should be kinda snug as-is. The 90-degree rubber "elbows" are a good snug fit to the tubes and I use a silicone lubricant on the I.D of the rubber to help ease assembly.
You warm my heart. Do I need the two tubes that go into the flapper valve? I am using moble home putty tape for a seal. Nice ribbon shape and will squash down when the heater housing is bolted down. I have one stuborn screw I have to get out (had to drill it to get heater out). Then instant heat. I, also, was able to get the flapper valve and cable freed up so they work smooothly. Thanks to everyone for all the help.
