Hi all,

I’m installing the rubber seals for my door. What is the funny clip near the top of the channel by the windscreen?

And how do I run the channel past this?

i am using a separate fuzzy and door seal, both from TRF. (Not the one-piece TR6 seal.)

In doing some internet research, I found a few images showing this clip holding the top of the seal, essentially pulling it away from the window at the top. Perhaps to reduce the outward force at the top of the window, maybe to prevent it being pulled out by airflow?

Not sure if this is correct?? I’ve installed the door seals (fuzzy and foam rubber), as well as the windshield cap, but not pushed the seal behind this clip.

I would like to hear the answer to this as well. I have one side in and I tucked it under the clip. As a related item, TRF seals are better than other vendors product on the rubber part of the two pieces. TRF's will compress more, the others are more solid and will not compress as much leading to problems with the door shutting. Bruce

Another clue… are the clips to attach the sides of the soft top? To keep the top edge tight??

Yes, those clips are for the hook attachments on the TR4 and 4A soft-tops. I am uncertain whether all models of the top have those clips, but mine definitely does.

My door seal fits around them so tightly that I have to pry the seal to remember/verify which way the hooks make their bend—and that’s usually in a driving rain.
