#1 Will the inside workings of a '69 door fit inside a '65 door?

#2. Is the lower hinge supposed to have more resistance than the upper hinge?

#3. Why does this project just keep getting more and more expensive?

Lonnie

#1 yes
#2 no
#3 Well it is part of pleasure of restoring an old car, but imagine an expensive one on parts, like Citroën SM or an AC or a Jag XK120

I belive the window mechanism will work, but not the door latch assembly. THe later door handle won't fit on the outside either.

Actually, doesn't the bottom hinge have the mechanism that holds the door open? & wouldn't that make it 'drag' just a bit on opening/closing?

Have you fallen victim to the MAW syndrome?

The May As Well syndrome where you've got something that's OK or useable but decide you may as well upgrade it or put a new one in now rather than risk it going bad, wearing out. etc. Like I'll replace the clutch now that the engine's out anyway, or let's put in some spotlights since I'm re-doing the wiring.... The list can grow almost endlessly... don't ask how I know.... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/iagree.gif MGB doors stay open? The doors on my '76 kind of swing open without any resistance at all... I always have to keep a hand on the door when I get in and out on inclines...

I think that the Mk. 1 window regulators are different, as are the latch and handles mechanisms. Vent windows are different too.

Oh, and I have all the pullhandle door stuff if you need it. Just a matter of finding a pair of both lefts and rights. Some things here are labeled as to which side, but most aren't. If I have to, I can go strip out another door and get some stuff that way.
