OK this is probably one of the easier questions for you more experienced owners. How do you remove the top caps on the inside top of the doors on a 1969 Sprite.

Hey, Irv -

Better to post your question on the Spridget side of the Forum. This section is for questions about navigating the Forum itself.

Take off the door panel and up inside the door there are two clips holding it in place with nuts.

#'s 66, 67, 69 here

they are (as I recall) about 25% of the way in from either end. The nut is either 5/16 or 3/8 - I don't remember

that's how it is in my '79. Be prepared for some cursing and ripped up cuticles when you do this..... It's a pain. I'm convinced that the guys that built these cars had elves that did this work for them.

Not elves MOWOGS! Little English mythical creatures. Look at your parts they left their names all over them.

Do yourself a BIG favor and go buy a 5/16" "Gearwrench" (micro sized ratcheting box wrench) from your local hardware store. You will appreciate it.

:iagree: I either used that or the 1/4 end screwdriver socket driver - (how quickly I forget.)
