Whaa.. eehh... nice!

That was unexpected. Not bad at all! I see it working for trucks and SUVs, but not for sports cars. You would have to raise the vehicle height.

Can you imagine the repair problems with those suckers!

Yes.....Although refreshingly amusing from an engineering/design perspective.

I originally thought it was going to be some cheesy ricer mod. before I saw the video.

ditto... I thought it was gonna be one of the million permutations of the gullwing or scissors action doors. Never seen reverse garage door opening doors before! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

That car was just for sale on ebay - Lincoln factory XP!! one of two! Older, from like the mid '90s if I recall! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbsup.gif

Eh.. the Kaiser Darren had 'em in the 50s.. they slid into the fenders....
OK Ok so it's not quite the same.... Alright.. those are really cool! I'd love to see that in person. As long as I don't have to work on it.
I wonder if both sides do that? and, if so, can you have both open at the same time?

That's what I thought at first - that it would be like the Kaiser. Problem is, there's no room inside the fenders of modern cars to hide a door.

I had seen this type door on a car some time back, {Can`t remember excatly when} but seems like several years anyway.
Did y`all see that Interior upholstery? Wrinkled up nicely upon door opening, and even stayed a bit wrinkled upon door closing. YUCK!
But then I`m not one for fandangled gizmos on my cars either!
I`m really not too impressed! But then thats me!

Anyone remember the BMW Z1?

Yep.....Thought about that one when I saw it.
If I recall, the Z1 had rather high sills and was Euro-only.

According to the blurb on ebay the driver's door was the same, but inoperable and "in need of work"!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/eek.gif

PS the car is listed in ebay motors under "other makes"
