That white is beautiful...it gives a very deep look to the car.

Sorry I don’t think we helped much, but glad you figured it out. I would not have expected a shim that thick to fit. All that matters is that it works, though!

And as it turns out, the RH door fit with no shimming required! Go figure...

Looking at your door photo I think you could have moved the fender forward a little to even the gap at the top plenum area . A thiner shim would give you a better gap at the B pillar but if your happy with it that's all that matters. I see you have taken the latest instructions from the United Nations about how to address a group Y'all.

Looks great. I have always liked the way the TR3 looks in white.
The difference in the door gap is due to what happened to the tub in an earlier life. When I got my TR3 the drivers door would not fit by 1/4" and the passenger door gap was 1/2" too big.
Took a lot of work to get the doors to fit.

Yeah, on the two LTD studs...very astute! The paint shop filled them in, much to my annoyance today. Easier than dealing with a drip I guess. What that means practically is that not only do I have to re-drill the holes, which is easy, but if I start drilling and am even close to the old hole, the drill bit will prefer the softer filler and wander in, leaving an elongated mess. Ask me how I know!

yes start with finding the old hole from inside maybe a mirror and drill a very small hole then work that out with small crafty rate tail files.
