Don't fall for fake password change reminders

If you get an email that looks similar to the one attached, claiming to be from British Car Forum and asking you to change your password, it is fake. These emails will usually contain links asking you to click to change your password. Don't be fooled and don't be fooled by these sam emails! NOTE: BCF is not the only place from which you may get these types of emails. Often times you will get them claiming to be from your bank or some other business, etc.

With that said - it is a good idea to change your password here once in a while (and don't use simple passwords that a bot can crack in two minutes).

It’s easy to determine by looking at the email source code. But keep in mind pretty much everything in an email can be spoofed.

Woke up this morning to find my WF home banking account hacked.
I can't access my accounts and they opened new CC, ATM and Debit cards.
They also opened an account at US Bank using my bank as a reference.
My emails said they opened new CC, ATM and Debit cards.
Called my bank to freeze everything, which they did, but the fraud department is closed for the weekend.
I need to go to WF tomorrow and open all new accounts and get a credit report and freeze some stuff.
Then I need to go to US Bank and make sure those accounts are tossed.
GRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!

Steve - that's a rotten situation for sure. Shows how important it is these days to consider freezing your credit score accounts and check monthly credit card statements.

Wells Fargo hasn't had a good reputation for the last several years, sad to say.

We just had to cancel and replace 2 credit cards because they were compromised. All charges were dropped, not the first time!
