Drill hole to mount a power outlet and simultaneously drill a hole into your battery. It makes for an unpleasantly exciting (and expensive) morning.
 
Heh - you are in good (or bad) company.
I know that Prop did the same sort of thing a while back only with a drill driver and a long screw.

I believe I was ten when I took the Hunters Safety Course, it had a lot of good lessons that apply to a lot of life's challenges.
 
What's sooooo sad is that I new what was behind my target... But I ASSUMED that the bit was too short to cause damage. Oh well... I wanted a better fitting battery anyway.
 
Did the same thing once, it's amazing how fast you can yank a leaking battery out of the car. Dried the hole, put a bit of JB Weld in it, filled the cell and still have it.

However, the shirt and jeans I was wearing bit show signs of battery acid...they went in the garbage.
 
Morris, a new battery is not required, a bit of epoxy will fix you up.
 
Bondo too if you didn't short a plate. Did you get acid in your heater duct?
