Don't do anything stupid!

I just heard on my favorite news show about a guy who robbed a bank by handing the teller a note. The note also had his complete name and address and social security number on it!

The guy told the teller "don't do anything stupid!"

There was one in Jacksonville (I think) last year where the bank was held up by two people. Robber #1 passed a note, the teller looked at it, handed it back, and said she didn't understand the note. Robber #2 grabbed the note, read it, and started berating robber #1 about the note.

When I lived in Phoenix, some schmuck wrote his holdup note on the back of one of his preprinted deposit slips. Needless to say, they had little trouble in apprehending him.
I also heard about some idiot holding up a liquor store, and demanding some liquor along with the money. The clerk told him he didn't look old enough to have the booze, so the guy shows his drivers license as proof of age!
Somebody peed in the gene pool!

This reminds me of the two jokers who tried to break into an ATM machine and when they could not open it they decided to steal it instead. They connected a chain to their vehicles rear bumper and to the ATM machine. They failed to notice it was bolted into concrete and steel and preceded to jerk the rear bumper off their vehicle. They left the scene leaving the chain still connected to the ATM machine and the rear bumper with the license tag still in place. To say the least, they were captured very quickly!!

That's what they call it down at the Department of Redundancy Department. (But lets be fair, 99 percent of the people call them "ATM machines."

I saw on one of those "Stupidest Criminal" shows once where they showed a security camera at some store had caught a guy trying to throw a brick through the front window. Unfortunately, the window was Plexiglas and the brick bounced off the window and struck the guy square in the forehead. They found him still unconscious in front of the store the next morning.

Yeah, I know, Basil. It seems to me that we had a thread a few months back regarding such redundancies. I wasn't being mean, just trying to liven things up a bit.

One dumb note from me, duh: Here in Texas we have Texas A.& M. University... their hats and logo say "ATM" putting the Texas "T" in the middle and little bigger than the A or M. I asked an alumni if he was in the banking business. He got angry...and told me that it was Texas A&M not ATM Machine; guess my weird sense of humor isn't acceptable here. Wouldn't that be ATMM anyway? Better stop before another alum berates me properly.

I'm probably alone in this, but one that makes my stomach churn is the referrence to RPMs. The R already stands for revolutions(plural)so why isn't it sufficient to say "get more RPM" instead of "get more RPMs". Gets to me like the guy that sells "shock agsorbers" on the local station. Even my dog knows it's "shock absorber". Like those super agsorbent hefty towels.

Steve, I'm tempted to start another thread just for "Aggie" jokes, but some alum would probably get his shorts in a knot. Actually, I guess just knowing that "Aggie" jokes even exist speaks volumes.

No, Dale, you're not alone in your peeve about RPM's. That's another one that has always bothered me as well. And, I suppose I have been guilty of using it myself. As I mentioned earlier, I think we had a thread on topic along these lines awhile back.
Irregardless..................aaarrrgh!

Aaah, another Firesign Theatre listener?

"It had been snowing in Santa Monica since the top of the page, and the corn starch was knee deep on my mukluks as I" .................
The Firesign Theater is still one of my all time favorites.
Hmm. The Firesign Theater, Fawlty Towers, a love for horrible puns,. Could there possibly be a link between all this and LBC ownership? Maybe we really all ARE a wee bit demented!
