Well at least for now. I am gonna try and get mine on the road tomorrow or Tuesday. I took it for a not so legal test run today. I now know that the gearing is going to be great for me. The speedo needs some work as it reads about 40 when according to the tach I should be around 60. I am going to confirm exactly how far off with my gps navigator and then see what I can do to correct it or at least get my actual variation at different speeds so I won't get in trouble. I gave it a final interior cleaning and did some paint touch ups in a few places and now all I need is to assemble my emergency spares and things and do some serious test driving. I had forgotten just how well these cars handle. A soon as I pulled out I had a big Tahoe right on my butt, but as soon as we hit some curves he was way back there. I never even had to let off the gas.

Alright! Now git out there and drive that little car.

All right!

Now, bring it over to Townsend for the "Springtime in the Smokies" show this weekend - we'll be there!

Congratulations!

Wow Kim, WTG man!!!
Now I want to hear about some driving!!

Tis on the Road! Took it for a little drive around this evening. Was very wobbly and shimmying in the right front. Dropped by my brothers house and looked it over and found out that the new lug nuts being bigger did not get aligned correctly with the taper of the wheels. I had to loosen all and then tighten each and insure it was in the taper and then tighten down and torque. That was much improvement but I think I still need to rebalance and check the toe in again. Ran it on up to 80 after the lug nut deal and it did fine. I have not checked the accuracy of my tach but if it is correct then my calculations were a bit off. In OD 70mph is 3300 rpm. It seems to cruise well there except for the slight shimmy still. I need to check that out. Also the new tapered roller wheel bearings might need to be checked again as well. Good news is that it ran well and nothing fell off. It was 72 degrees today and I did my first test run with the top up because I can hear what is going on inside better. That Datsun 5 speed has a whine to it at speed. I know it has enough lube in it. I need to continue my tests. Got to quit, work tomorrow.

Drive reports, that's what we want to hear!

Excellent

Took it to work this AM and nearly froze my ears off with the tonneau on it. Now they are aching. I believe that was more cold than the motorcycle. Not much traffic, all lights worked well. Parked under a street lamp. It was still dark. Supposed to be 77 today and 10% chance of rain so the drive home should be nice.

I like that gearing. Wish I could run across one of those 3.55's.

Now's the time to build the windblocker Kim. That tonneau cover bracket can be converted into a bar for the windblocker. Tonneau will fit fine supported by headrest's or tops of seats. Got pics if you want.

Allows me to keep ballcap on my head at 70+ mph

Nothing a matter with cold weather clothes in the morning. You do have a trunk you know unlike a motercycle.
