So I started with the crank seal and I have stripped the front of the block and degreased the engine compartment. Next will be painting and detailing of both.

I call it the "Might as well disease". As in, "I 've got the head off, 'I might as well' put in new valves. Since I'm doing new valves 'I might as well' put in new valve springs.....". Two things to be sure of if you catch this disease. One it's nearly impossible to stop. And second it gets very expensive. But you will have a very nice car in the end.

What they don't tell you is that when you run out of "mightaswells" you sell the car for a miniscule portion of what you put in it and go in search of MORE and BIGGER "mightaswells" which are usually hidden in, on, or under an "I-can-fix-that" car!!

Or else a pile of expensive parts, which you'll eventually get tired of looking at and sell for a tiny fraction of what you paid for them!

I know of folks that only set out to "tidy up" the engine bay a bit ... 20 years later, the car is still in pieces.

Needless to say I am under the gun to get this done. Soon Very soon. My son has his prom coming up and he would like to drive it. The question is will He be sporting a red or yellow car.
