Oh good, the morning crowd and its syill working! This is such a vast imporvement. I was hoping for some imporvement of course, that's why I did this, but I didn't know what to expect. This is beyond my wildest dreams. I mean queries that are in hundreths of seconds!! How cow!

I too tried looking at the photo section both yesterday in morning and afternoon and again today.
I presume its just taking a little longer to transfer that material.

Just looked at the Pub and noted Basil's comments there about the size of the photo section and the extra time needed to move it.
That's OK.
Its a lot quicker now. I can wait for the photos....

Yup. That's gotta be at least as big a batch of bits-n-bytes as the stuff he's already transferred. Images are a HUGE use of drive space usually.
Basil: Should we refrain from 'shipping' images now? IOW: wait 'til you've made the migration rather than have files "sittin' in the way"? I've not tried to add anything so don't know if we even can right now... Boss? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I did not buy the fastest server available, but I did get the best, fastest box that I could get that I felt I could afford (and I've been getting some help in that department, thank you very much). I'm also leasing enough bandwith to accomodate this site for hopefully years to come. All that said, I did not really know what to expect in the way of performance, and I can only say that I'm extremely happy with the way the forum is performing now! I hope if any folks left due to the slow performance in the past, that they will be back soon.
