Owned a Model A Ford for many years....manual spark advance, mechanical brakes and all.
Every car I have called "mine" sine 1965 has had a manual choke. The Jag is the first one with a sliding lever manual choke.
All have had manual steering, no seat belts, crank windows.
4-40 A/C, with wing vents to "assist".
Had my daughter-in-law's niece and nephew here several years ago. They wanted to watch TV. Where's the remnote?
No remote. How do you turn it on?
Walk over and turn it on.
How do you change channels?
See that big knob? Grab it with both hands and turn.
Then I asked if they wanted to listen to the radio.
Big old RCA upright....showed then the knob, turned it on, and WAY up, asked me if it was broken.
I said, no, you have to wait for the tubes to warm up.
What are tubes?
About that time it came on....full bore....
Then I grabbed the Western Electric Type 300 dial phone, asked if they wanted to call their mom and dad.
I did a lot that day with culture shock.
However, my granddaughter, not yet 2, can walk over to her parent's smart phone, scroll to the video she wants to see (of her), select and play, when done, do another.
Hellsbells, I can't even do that.
Grandma says the only airbag in the car is me.
