Does a BJ 8 need a vented fuel cap?

Hopefully an easy question - I have acquired a lockable fuel cap for my late BJ 8 but unlike the old cap I had it seems to be a sealed fit and has no apparent vent.

Am I in danger of creating and air lock or vacuum in the fuel system if I use it ?
 
Fuel tank is vented to the outside using a small black flexible tube connected to the metal filler pipe inside the boot and then the flexible tube is routed down through the floor to the out side.

It's not a modern sealed cap, is it? You could put it up to your mouth and blow through the lock.

Yes, it requires a vented cap.
