Doc, Linux Mint 16 Question

Doc, I'm having a problem with my Thunder Bird email in Mint. It's what came with it. I can receive my mail normally, but when I want to send one, it keeps giving me an error flag! I have a POP account with my server and it seems T Bird doesn't like it and tells me I should change it to IMAP? My server doesn't use that format. Is there another email program that's compatible with Mint? Or, how can I correct this problem? I have Mint 16 in two computers and I like it. My little Toshiba, which I'm using now has trippled it's speed with Mint. My desktop is duel boot at the present, but if I can get this mail program to work right, windows is coming out of it also. Any help on this? Thanks, PJ

Oh yeah, should I upgrade to 17 or ?

Hi Paul,
I've been using Thunderbird on Fedora for around four years. My ISP uses a POP server and I've had no issues. My Android phone did need a call to the ISP (Time Warner Cable) tech support to set up because I needed to use a particular port number for outgoing and a different port for incoming servers. I'll take a peek at my computer later to see if it has a similar setup. I'm on my tablet ATM.

Greg, I got it! The port was wrong! Thank you. PJ

Good deal!
