Do you think I should buy these tires?

[Miser]

I'm about to buy these. They are expensive. Should I buy these or different ones. If so tell me what model and size to buy please.

WOW !!!
I'm running RE92s and like them, but they were a whole lot less expensive when I bought them. For that price, I'd try something like a Yokohama S-drive or BFG g-force (which are available in the same size).

If they were going on a Porsche, Miser..

I'm curious why the 55's and not the 60's? There is a significant difference in price and I believe the 60's are as close to the same diameter as 165-15's.

[glemon]

There is a Kumho Ecsta ASX for well under half the price with better reviews, have not tried these particular tires, but have run Kumhos on some of my cars, good tire for the money.

Does the 2006 production on the description mean the bridgestone was made in that year, if so wouldn't by them, tires degrade over time.

I have Falken Ziex 912s on my TR250, tire rack doesn't sell them, discount tires direct does, they seem to be fine tires too, I have a different size (205/65) but looks like they make a 55 too.

You don't mention what size wheels you have, but I am running the Potenzas in 195/65-15 and think them fine.

That size (195/65-15) seems to be much more common with a lot more choices, perhaps that is one reason they cost less ($89) in that size:

[Miser]

Yeah they are too much I'll keep looking

[Marvin Gruber]

Wouldn't do 55's, will look too small in the wheel well. 65's are okay and 70's are difficult to fine in right size but are my choice.

I had these on my car before my restoration and I was very happy with them.

They are 205/70/15 which I believe are the correct size. I wanted tires with a little more performance but these served me well. For the spare tire should I just get whatever is the cheapest?

[TR3driver]

Didn't realize you are working on a TR6, Miser. In that case, I would definitely recommend taller tires, (and wider if your rims will handle it). I only run 205/55 because that is all that will fit under my TR3 fenders without modification.

Although a bit noisy compared to the Cooper tires I now have, Dunlop Signature tires were great in all other respects.

Miser, concerning the spare, I went with this tire recommended by Geo Hahn:

My concern was finding a spare that was similar to the original size and would fit into the spare tire well and this one fit right in.

NO. At least I wouldn't. Check out Falken Ziex tires. Here is a much more economical approach with or without the Konigs.

I also went with the space saver tire for a spare but as a good friend mentioned that's all fine and well but where will you put the flat tire to get it back to be fixed. In his case we stuffed it behind the seats. The point is you will need to deal with a tire that will not fit in your trunk regardless. Admitedly for a shorter period of time but it will need to be dealt with.
