Do you remember...

Nope.
You must be a *lot* older than me.

I just remember my daddy talking about that stuff /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

Happily, I remember quite a bit of those!

Thanks, Bas! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

All well before my time, though there are certainly times I wish I had grown up in an earlier day. The 80s were not the best of time for US popular culture. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

What was wrong with mullets and pastels? /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

Each & every one! But, then, I'll be 61 next month!

& I had a duck tail in high school....& was a member of a "car club"!

Most of them.

Obviously from my early developmental years of my childhood!

Well before my time...
My aunt lives in Staunton Va. knows the Statler brothers. Even bought a Gold Caddy from one of 'em. had 'em all sign the dashboard.
I've never been a huge fan myself.. they're very good, just not my taste.
Neat link.

That's more my era.

I saw a comedian last night, Gary Gulman, who had a bit about growing up in the '80s. he is really worth seeing.

"STOP!"

You know you grew up in the '80s if you immediately thought: "Hammertime." or maybe even "Collaberate and listen..."

good stuff.

All that stuff is AFTER my time... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/eek.gif

I am only two years behind Tony and remember all those ... Curses on you for trying to make us feel old Basil!!! I think we have an antidote in our LBCs though, haha!!
After all, I remember the days when my '59 BE was a new car...cutting edge sportiness for the masses!!

I am familiar with most of that stuff, but it's from my parent's generation, not mine.

For those of you who do remember (or are merely fond of old popular culture stuff) I would like to recommend a book: The Life And Times Of The Thunderbolt Kid by Bill Bryson. It's a memoir of growing up in the fifties. It's hysterical as well.

You didn't have a "DA"? You are sooo politically correct Tony, hehe! Was it a flat-top before that?
