I don't know the Boozoo Chavis version. I got this from the Clarence Williams Novelty Band's 1930 recording <span style="font-style: italic">You're Bound to Look Like a Monkey When You Grow Old</span>. Clarence Williams was a New Orleans musician. So the Zydeco connection makes sense.

Laugh it up, but I swear by Anti Monkey Butt powder for keeping my feet dry during the winter. Before Anti Monkey Butt, my Thinsulate boot liners would be drenched within the first hour of snow shoveling. Now, my feet stay as dry and toasty as Death Valley.
