Do you ever get the feeling,WHAT THE ....

I understand that, my best friends 16 year old had to have the
BMW 328i, nice but way to much car for her.
What year is your 6, the dash says it's a '69. Did all your rocker switches work, as I have been able to fix most, better than before. For some reason they didn't use any lub on the plastic bits that roll back and forth, no chance.

D,

I think that I found your problem. Both my original and the toy unit that I just received are thinner than yours. My original door is .461" thick at the max reading and the toy is .469" at the max.

You said yours was .506", which is .040-.045"" difference.

That could be your problem.

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:]Paul, I noticed on your photo it looks recessed a little. That correct? [/QUOTE]

Yes, just a couple, maybe .002"-.003", but just enough to give it that recessed look.

Wayne, my car is an early 71 and like wise the dash.
My daughter thinks the sedans are ugly and would only be happy in a Z4.She is barely 14 and has time to reconsider something a lot cheaper.

All, I went back to work with the zip tool and got it to seat correctly. Had to sand around the hole and steel wool the face before rubbing 3 more coats of finish on it. Tomorrow I will lightly sand with some 400 grit and then give it a couple of coats of spray finish and call it good.

Now I wait for the o rings for the big gauges and then finally the dash goes back in. The next questions I will ask is what are all those pieces of the steering column for????
