Stopped today to get a drink on the way home as a popular fast food chain. As I was going through the drive through, once I placed my order the sign changed to show a picture of the character Grimace and a message, "Grimace says that's a really great order, good job". I had noticed before messages without a character that said "Wow what a delicious order". I have to wonder, when did we reach the point where we need a pat on the back and affirmations for going through a drive thru. Not exactly like it's new or difficult.
 
People today seem to need high tech to feel alive.

Reminds me of the 1980s child rearing rule: whatever the child does, say "Wow - Good job!".

My dad missed that memo. I can count the number of times he told me good job on one hand.

The timing for my '74 is 4 deg. AFTER top dead center at idle according to the sticker on the inner fender and in the Bently manual. I believe it was set this way to minimize emissions. You will find however that it may run better at 8-10 deg advanced with the vacuum andvance (if equiped) and the vacuum retard disconnected. You will just have to experiment for yourself on that one.

Affirmation, confirmation and constant reinforcement are good for building important coping skills necessary to navigate the complex and sometimes confusing choices life offers at El Pollo Loco drive thru. Good job by all!
