Do I need 2 Charcoal Canisters?

I am kicking around the idea of getting rid of one my canisters to make room for some other numbskullery I would like to try with my car.

I am a big fan of the job the charcoal canisters do, but I am wondering if I really need two. Especially since my car is injected and does not need to recover the vapors from the float bowl. Anyone have any thoughts on this?
 
No opinions? No "you're being a DPO, Morris" comments?
 
OK, Morris! I don't think you're being a DPO at all. If the canister for the float bowl vent is redundant, then why bother with it. You can go ahead and bolt the nitrous bottle in its place.

Right below my Moon Eyes sticker of course.
 
On my 1975 midget,it only had one canister so I imagine that removing the second one is no big deal. I think it was for the 76 model and onwards that they added the 2nd one.

I am not sure you even need either with the fuel injection though. It sounds from the response of others you don't even need that.
 
Morris - The 1978 & 1979 MG Midgets originally sold in California had 2 charcoal canisters. The 1975 - 1979 MG Midget 1500 Workshop Manual has a great description and hose layout of the different fuel evaporative loss control systems. You can easily modify your 2 canister system to the 1 cansister system so that you will still have a fuel vapor recovery system. Hope this info helps.
 
That does help Tony. I thought they all had the two canister system.
