Dizzy vacuum line, manifold drain lines routing?

I would like to know how the dizzy vacuum line is routed. It has a large and small P clip on it. I know the large one is for the rear most head stud but is the small one connected to the hot water heater valve bolt on the right side of the engine? Also the inlet manifold drain lines, where do they go? I have the two clips attached to the engine sump pan bolts and I believe they are for the float overflow lines. I am just about ready to start the newly installed and rebuilt engine! Thanks for your help and have a good day!

The small one is connected to the forward most hot water heater valve bolt on the right side of the engine.

To the two clips attached to the engine sump pan bolts via a lazy 'Z' shape. I am just about ready to start the newly installed and rebuilt engine! Thanks for your help and have a good day!

:savewave: Regards Keoke

I believe the two clips on the left side of the sump pan are for the intake manifold overflow lines. Two copper tubes run from the bottom of the manifold to below the sump as an over flow of fuel when the engine stops. They are not form the float chamber of the carb. That takes a rubber tube that goes out else where away form the exhaust header.
On my BJ8 the advance is held in place on the rear tappit cover plate bolt not the heater control.

Thanks for the help Tahoe and Keoke! Good to hear from you again Keoke, it has been a while. How is the rubber tubing off the float boals routed? Hope everyone is well and have a good day!

There is a copper or brass tube off the banjo nut on the top of each float chamber that elbows downward. The tube is attached to that otherwise the over-flow goes directly onto the hot exhaust system. Not good although I have never heard of any fires from it. I believe I got the tubes form Moss and they may be designed for fuel (or not?)

Tahoe,
I have the banjos and small section of copper pipe but where should I run the tubes after they are attached to the copper pipe? Thanks again and have a good day!

I have mine going down the inside of the wheel-well to drain behind the wheel I believe.I think its in the chamber where the master cyls are. My car is in "cold storage" across the street so I cannot tell you exactly until this weekend. Its been years since I did that. Just stay away from the exhaust cause its rubber and fuel. Others please pipe in and let us know the route you chose.

On my BJ7, the carb overflow tubes go down and pass through a large hole in the heat shield and then just drop straight down from there. I left the tubes fairly long .. ending down around the oil pan. This routing/length should keep the tubes (and any gas flowing out of them) away from the exhaust system.

Cheers,
John
