Just thought I'd share some pics of the Dixon California car show. One car in particular impressed me, the blue bugeye with a custom turbo setup. The white with blue stripes had some DOHC motor. There was only maybe 6 bugeyes in total, with around 15 MGA's, tons of Triumps, etc. The bugeyes were the fewest in numbers, about the same number as Lotus.
I had to include a pic of a nasty mini there, looks like a blast to drive!

It was, the housing was the size of the Mitsu Evo 16G on my Galant Vr4. Who knows how big the wheel is though. I forgot what kind of compressor it was, but the throttle body was Ford, about a 2" inlet. The car in 2012 had been in a garage fire and rebuilt to what you see here. New paint and a lot of soot cleaning took place I'm sure. I can't ID what the motor is in the white car, bet it has some get up and go though. Scott Macdonald, if you read this, saw you out there, but you were having a conversation with a fellow with the gorgeous blue bugeye for sale. Did you get his contact info? Or are you after it :smile:
 
I arrived late and had a dead battery with no jumper cables :smile: but had a good time and saw some very nice cars. I did speak to the owner of the Shelby B/E 140+ hp. My Sprite would never keep up.

Engine in the white BE is a 4AGE Toyota. I want one!
 
The White Bugeye with the faring belongs to Rod Hill. I saw that car from it's earliest development (I have some photos somewhere, but before digital cameras). It also has an RX7 rear axle and disc brakes. He did a great Job on it. He and John Carey travel together, so surprised I don't see his car in the photos.

The Bugeye with the turbo is (I believe) Glen Byrns car, freshly restored after the fire.
 
Hey, next time you have a dead battery, come to the club booth. I always bring an extra battery and cables. OH, and a hammer!

Thanks Jerry! I quickly meet up with Jim Rogers (Winner's Circle Triumph Roadster) and after a few trips to his car got the car going. Thank the club again as I won a Raffle prize!

I'd like to know more about the Toy swap. The owner isn't using the fuel injection that came stock but twin DCOE's. Also looks as if he may not be using the ECM to control the spark. Maybe he has technophobia like me.:highly_amused:
