Distributor won't come out!!

I'm a bit embarrassed by the paint on the car but will try to get a motor picture tomorrow. If I can follow directions to post I'll get them on the forum.

The car - But I'll look at cattle also

On a clear day, if you go up the C.N. Tower here in Toronto.. you can see Buffalo.

Now THAT is a herd.

Sounds like nice cows you have there Angus

Teh son had a show herd. (Angus of course) Did very well. He sold them this year as he is now out of 4H. Out of 6 years he had 5 Grand or Reserve Grand Champions in the market steer class and every year had a least one Grand Champion breeding animal. I'm proud of him. Miss the cows but not the work.

W daughter was growing up,we used to buy those cattle at auction & have them butchered...best meat around

My Son goes out with a 4H girl. (at least I think she is the one this week), and she shows prize winning Black Angus up here. Never picture her as a farm girl though. I have to ask him now if she is this weeks? There was Sue before Christmas, Katlyn in November, Two Reberta's last summer. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

We bought this year's steer. My cousin came up for the auction. He is buying next year and we'll split a steer and a hog.

I would like to get a few 4H together to rebuild a MG or orther small car. I have been the leader for welding, woodworking, and engine repair. I wish more people realized how much good influence an organization like the 4H has with youth.

More Blaster and wiggle wiggle wiggle for a minute from time to time today....and remember, PATIENCE is a virtue!

Got P B Blaster and am now soaking the shaft. Will wiggle in a little while. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

That "shake vigorously before applying" always made my teeth hurt... Now I just hop up and down a bunch.

I think you're gonna find an real build-up of "laquer" like muck and aluminum oxide are the "binding" agents. PB Blaster should dissolve most of it to goo, and will likely do the same to the "O" ring seal, but it WILL eventually release.

Doc--I have o rings so I don't mind. I'm going to try to get this done today and tonight. The wife is going to an Iris Society meeting tomorrow and it would be a perfect day for a spin. I am thinking of sealing the sun roof until the summer. That way the interior will stay dry--comments? Also, thanks for the help last night; you gave me a jump start on where to start looking.

(As I cook an Angus chuck roast for Mom for dinner.)

comment:
Duct tape?!?! Or that spiving aluminium stuff? I'd go with the latter as it'll offer less wind resistance *and* it's SHINY /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Clear caulking!! I don't want to look too bad. 200 MPR tape is great but leaves a nasty residue. Dist not moving yet. Tapped around with a brass punch (lightly). Shaking gave me a headache too.

Have you got a plastic faced hammer? I'm tempted here to suggest you disassemble the dizzy in situ (remove the rotor, advance plate, center cam & springs/weights) so as to be able to tap down and around it. Be cautious as I have seen distributors abused to the point they fracture at the base of the aluminum casing. It's cast, so somewhat more "porous" & brittle than if it were billet cut. And soak, soak, soak.

(Bowing down with hands over head)I am not worthy, I am not worthy. Doc, the dizzy is moving about an 1/8 turn in both directions. Squirt, squirt, soak, soak. Tomorrow I will drive. Yay. Had to use a large channel locks (yes, very softly). The strap wrench had rubber on it and I was afraid it would melt.

So the "Blaster" is permeating the nasty stuff... kewl. You'll be safe with the strap wrench as long as it doesn't SOAK in the stuff... I'd say go back to it.

May I leave for a while to go check on me tea now??? Liver 'n onions inna hovel!! *drool* I'll stay right here as I gorge /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

EDIT: This will be the "dangerous time." Don't get anxious, let the Force (of Weasel Pi**) be with you!

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif The dizzy is out!!!! PB Blaster worked. The bottom part of the dist was soooo gungky. I am going to clean up the dizzy and then scrub out the hole. I AM GOING TO START THE GT TONIGHT!! Thanks to all those that contributed. Doc--the roast turned out perfect, too.
