Vertical play isn't as much an issue as "side slop".... unless you plan to fly inverted. :wink:

Paul, I gotta try first, it's both a curse and a blessing! The brass bushing (washer) above the drive dog was worn, increasing vertical play, which inturn compounded side-slop. I replaced it with a thicker (new/unworn) brass one, which removed most of both vertical and lateral play. I'll report back on whether or not the car still runs...

Oh, I didn't know that you had it apart. It sounds like you have a good grasp on the problem, so try the washer and see how it works. You'll never know until you try.
