Hello all, quick question...BJ8 - My distributer rotor: Like the two before on past occasions occurring on my previous Healey, sheared away in the area of the rotor underneath where it is notched or only allowing installation to go one way on the distributor cam. Seems to be a common problem, yes? Just was wondering what trick is there as a remedy or preventive measure of this ever happening or as often as it seems, anyway. Or is there something else I am missing in understanding this dilemma?

Hello,

i know this kind of problems from my old TR6 . The Rotor walk away because of bad fitting on the camshaft. I bend a little bit the inner spring plate and glue the rotor on the cam. So you are able to avoid that the rotor can move and crack on the contact points of the distributor cap.
Good luck.
Bye michel-who still work on his healey body

What kind of glue? Thought of gluing but how would one remove at a later date, besides cutting out?

Hello, I used Pattex 100 % ( I don't know this is available in the US) This glue is flexible and borderline temperature resistant up to 110 degr. But this is only the suspender additional to the Belt.....:glee: The Spring has to realise the friction on the shaft. Remove is possible by pulling force by hand .Bye Michel- who will visite Goodwood this Year :glee::glee:
