Distributor rebuild?

So part of my rebuild consist's of changing the car to fuel injection, which I already have. With this I will no longer need point, vacuum advance, advance springs or weights, etc. The ECU will change timing and such. Still, I want to have the distributor in good working order to insure no problems mechanically. I once had a distributor shaft freeze up once causing the distributor hold down flange to break and the distributor come up and out of the engine.

Since my car 60 3000 BN7 has a mechanical tach drive I was wondering if I should just get it rebuilt or any other option?

If you are moving to fuel injection the parts of the dizzy that remain will be pretty reliable. Why not give it a run through yourself and if you see something seriously out of whack that you can't handle, send it off to a pro like Jeff at Advanced Distributors?

i saw his website and thought the same thing. It appears he modifies the distributor by installing an upper bearing which sounds good to me. None of the aftermarket distributors appear to handle the mechanical tach drive.
