I have a DM2 (40735A) distributor in my '78 spit 1500, which doesn't look like original equipment. I've see references to this distributor in later model TR4's. Can anyone tell me which model/year this distributor is from?

Thanks,

Marcel's web page moved, the new cross reference is at
https://www.starchak.ca/tech/pdfs/lucas.pdf

He notes that there are errors in his database, but I have a Lucas catalog that also lists 40375 for late TR3 and early TR4 (with 86mm bore).

Regardless of what the original application, the DM2 was certainly from an earlier era. Look on the body of the dizzy near the model number you found. Look for a 3 or 4 digit stamped number. This will be the week and year of manufacture.
